Schools undergo formwork

Elementary schools to open in 2009-10 school year

While faculty, staff and students enjoyed the weeklong Thanksgiving vacation, construction workers continued to pile on the steel at elementary 2 on Mallette Drive.

Construction also continues at elementary 1, which has received several truckloads of structural steel.

The middle school and high school on the west side continue on form work, and the east high school has begun to drill and pour light pole bases.

The elementary schools are scheduled to open for the 2009-2010 school year.

Elementary 1, Lone Tree Road

Work with gas company to get gas line from Anthony Road

Start rough-in for kitchen area

Running conduit for parking lot lighting and signs

Install grease trap and tap for water line

Receive steel bar joists

Steel erection to begin about Dec. 2

Elementary 2, Mallette Drive

Completed all slab pours

Start of box culverts at road

About 75 percent of steel on section B is complete

Began steel erection on section A

Started metal studs, plumbing rough, electrical rough, air conditioning duct hangers, chill water hangers and sprinkler lines

Start concrete paving

Middle and high school on west side

Ongoing formwork at both the middle school and the high school

Continue tying rebar for slabs at both schools

Install storm sewer pipping

Plumbing rough-in

Electrical rough-in

Third concrete pour completed

High school on east side

Conduct survey

Continue to cut, grade and haul off spoil at swales

Continue to cut, grade and haul off spoil at detention pond

Continue to cut, grade and haul off spoil at athletic fields

Begin culverts and parallel wingwalls at Mockingbird Lane entry

Mobilize front paving at parking lot one and two

Drill, pour light pole bases at parking lot one and two
