Thirty-one people attended the annual Sloan/Levi Sloan/Nursery/Clark/Mission Valley Schools Reunion for fellowship and visiting.

Coolidge Gerdes recited several interesting declamations that some members had compiled and recited back in their school days. Gerdes studied these and could recite most of them from memory.

The most senior attendee was Faris Meyer Newman, born in 1918; two follow ups were Ed Haynes and Roy Johnson, born 1921. The youngest attendee was Hanna Newman, granddaughter to Rev. Sam Newman.

Debbie Hilliard Ellsworth is a descendant of Robert Sloan, an early settler in the area for whom some of the schools were named.

Coolidge and Mary Wright Gerdes were recognized fo rthe work to organize the reunion and for cleaning the hall before and after the party.

The next reunion will be Oct. 24.
