Bones that seem to belong to a woman were found in southern Victoria County on Sunday.
A Crosby man found the remains shortly after 1 p.m. on Ripley Lake Road, according to a deputy’s report. The man said he could not talk about his discovery when contacted by phone.
The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office took the skeleton to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s office, Captain Abel Arriazola said. Investigators there have tentatively said the bones belonged to a woman.
They did not know her age, race, how long she had been dead or how she died, Arriazola said.
“It’s still a death investigation,” Arriazola said. “We don’t know how she died. There’s not enough information to say if it’s a crime.”
The remains were found near the intersection of the unpaved Ripley Lake Road and state Highway 185, Arriazola said. No other evidence was found, he said, although the area may be searched again.

Popeye: Since your brother is on the VPD (and you were in the Navy, and your uncle was in the Navy, etc, etc, etc....), what were those helicopters doing circling Metro Victoria ( hello, BigJ) earlier this week?
October 2, 2008 at 9:20 p.m.BTW: Your lastest post is an adminsion that VPD officers are more interested in politics than crime. Read it over. You will see .
Is there any reason you don't defend TX DPS? Oh yeh, they aren't under attack , or indictment.
I thought that one was sloved the one at spring creek.
October 2, 2008 at 5:42 p.m.I was referring to an older unsolved case that we've haven't heard about in a long time. Wasn't there a young woman found dumped somewhere by Spring Creek? I never heard if they solved that one! And about the helicopter flying around at night I was just wondering if anybody knew about it and what it was doing! I'm not paranoid but I wonder about big brother snooping on our private lives?
October 2, 2008 at 5:24 p.m.Since CG23Sailor has chosen to come into this thread whining about his loss in court I will repost the following comment: There are a handfull of posters out of a county of 80,000 that persist on hounding Tyler because things aren't going their way. More power to ya. Their case was brought before the courts of Victoria County and, well we know the outcome.
October 2, 2008 at 5:03 p.m.Now those same people are bashing him because he is doing the job they claimed he wasn't doing. They want to make fun of rulings made againgst him as if this is the first time a Judge rules against a DA.
This group wants the DA to waste money on cases they deem ok and cry about dollars spent prosecuting their buds.
"We have shown where Tyler threw out a case where a minor was raped by he father for 3 years and Tyler threw out the case in part because of her sexual preference listed on a myspace account" Judge Williams disagreed with your claims. If you have a problem with that, take it up with the Judge.
Tyler doesn't make decisions conderning the VPD or the SO. He wasn't DA when the coach disappeared. He does make decisions concerning prosecution of cases. If the DA is going to have to come up with all the evidence needed to prosecute cases there is no need for the VPD or the SO's investigative departments.
sailor and no one heard a damn thing about it huh? hey Tyler I mean Luminary guess Tyler has been pretty busy today trying to convince a GJ. to re-indict the Fab 4.
October 2, 2008 at 4:20 p.m.Nice photo of Burl Ives Sal........
October 2, 2008 at 3:56 p.m.Folks, even human skeletal remains have family and loved one out there. Unlike other threads involving crime victims or the deceased, lets try to keep this one civil. Our S.O. investigators will identify this unfortate lady.
October 2, 2008 at 12:09 p.m.Well whoever this woman is, I'm sure she has family out there. So the sooner they find out the better for her family, that way they can have some kind of closure for their loved one. And about that comment by sjrNkaty, i heard the same thing about the Rehaun's store. Who knows????Only one way to find out. Who would do such a thing???
October 2, 2008 at 11:13 a.m.This road is at the gravel pit! by Invista.http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/?lat=28.85838699&lon=-97.00136566&zoom=10&pin=Victoria%2c%20TX

October 1, 2008 at 2:08 p.m.@ArchieBonkers Rumor is some cases are ignored because of the victim's sexual preferences.
