Packer bulls and cows were steady with our last sale. Steer calves started out higher, Heifers about steady.
Packer bulls: heavy weights, $58.50-$65.50; lower grades, $50-$57; canners, $45-$47.50.
Packer cows: boning cows mainly, $50-$56; cutters mainly, $44-$49.50; few, $550-$53.50; few $40-$41.50; low cutters, $32-$41.50; canners $25-$35; weak, $20-$27.50; fats smooth, $45.50-$50.
Dry cows: $33-$60; young, $41.50-$61; few light weights, $70-$75; palpated cows: $33.50-$66; heifers, $58-$65. Four in a deal, $765; cow, calf pairs, $55-$950

Compared last week, better quality classes of calves sold mostly steady on the better conditioned kinds while some of the fleshy new crops were a little weaker. Plainer types remain slow. Packer cows and bulls sold $2 lower on 475 head total.
