A celebration of Victoria's culture will be showcased on Saturday, May 2, at DeLeon Plaza.
The Victoria Chamber of Commerce - Minority Business Council - will sponsor Noche En Old Victoria on May 2.
The event always takes place the first week of May to coincide with Cinco de Mayo, said Lisa Hernandez, who is co-chairing the event with James Villafranca.
Noche showcases Victoria's Hispanic culture and supports the area youth, she said.
The evening will include food, musical performances and even a best-dressed Chihuahua contest.
The chamber tried to introduce variety to this year's event, she said, explaining car clubs, hip-hop groups and an education booths will be there. They also added more entertainment for the youth, such as a moon bounce, face painting and a petting zoo.
"It's a little bit of everything for everyone," she said.
It runs from noon to 11:30 p.m. in DeLeon Plaza.
Admission is $5, but children less than 48-inches tall get in free. Proceeds go to scholarship funds for students attending the University of Houston-Victoria or The Victoria College.
For more information, call the Victoria Chamber of Commerce at 361-573-5277.
