EDNA - A man drowned in Lake Texana on Tuesday after the canoe he and his two companions were riding in turned over, said Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputy.
The three people were fishing in Lake Texana between the Edna and Ganado boat ramps when the wind most likely flipped the canoe, said Chief Deputy Curt Gabrysch.
About 3:30 p.m., the sheriff's office received a call about a person in the water. The body was recovered a couple of hours later, Gabrysch said.
The investigation is ongoing. Judge Bobby Doelitsch, justice of the peace Precinct 1, ordered an autopsy on the body.
