GOLIAD - Apparently actor Luke Wilson wanted cream of jalapeno soup on Thursday.
Goliad residents spotted Wilson in the Blue Quail Deli here, and several posted his appearance on Facebook, ordering the restaurant's "famous soup," said owner Terry Baiamonte.
"They came in fairly early and asked about famous soup," Baiamonte said. "Him and two other men. I didn't know who they were. I asked him where he was from and he said, 'Austin.' They ordered soup to go."
Baiamonte said she didn't think much about the visitors until about seven or eight women were standing around him getting their photograph taken.
County extension agent Brian Yanta was also there at the time and posted to Facebook that he was "laughing it up with Luke Wilson at the Blue Quail Deli."
"Well I was laughing, and I saw him laughing across the room. We did make eye contact at one point," Yanta posted.
Reached by telephone later, Yanta said Wilson was real nice and posed for photographs with a group of teachers who were in the restaurant.
Mona Foust, managing director of the Goliad Chamber of Commerce, said Wilson did not "check in" with her office before or during his visit.
"There is a likelihood they are scouting shooting locations for a movie. We just don't know," Foust said.
Wilson starred in "Legally Blonde," "Anchorman," "The Royal Tenenbaums" and "3:10 to Yuma."

August 7, 2009 at 2:08 p.m.Although I do not know Luke Wilson, my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
August 7, 2009 at 1:44 p.m.the story is about Luke Wilson not the meth bust!
August 7, 2009 at 1:01 p.m.Pardon me. By the way, how many of you know that evidence appears to be missing from the recent meth bust at Coleto Creek? We have tried to speak up here at the SO but have been told to be quiet. Hate to see the bad guys get off on a technicality due a deputy pinching some of the product. Alot of denying already going on here.
August 7, 2009 at 12:56 p.m.I believe the word you wanted to use is spelled "clique", not "click". If you can't spell, don't rant.
August 7, 2009 at 11:11 a.m.CHAMBER? WHAT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE? That place is the biggest "click" of folks who never want to see things change and would rather run politics from there. No wonder businesses don't want to join and it is the same elitist bistros and junk stores that try to pass themselves off as antique stores. Don't even bother coming to Market Days, as it will be too hot and again, the same old vendors peddling the same crap each month. Hey chamber, learn to think outside the box for a change!
August 7, 2009 at 10:48 a.m.Who is Luke Wilson?
August 7, 2009 at 10:41 a.m.Who CARES?
Or there is likelihood that he was in Corpus for the Willie Nelson/Bob Dylan/John Melloncamp concert, it was on the radio all day yesterday that they were in Corpus...
