The 570 cows & bulls. The cow and bull market was about an average of $2 per cwt lower due mainly to the dairy buyout as well as the large volume coming to the market due to the drought. Calves sold to a good demand. Plainer types were higher while good calves continued at past levels with quality differences being apparent in all weight brackets.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $52-$55; Packer cows: Boning cows, $44-$50.50; cutters, $43.50-$48.50; few, $33-$41; low yielding cutters, $28-$34.50; fat cows, $43-$50.50; canners, $22.50-$30; weak, $16-$20.50.
