1: Why did you choose the industry?

We needed something to do with the property without becoming landlords.

2: Describe your first day in business.

Doors opened at 10 a.m. and we sold $52.27 in merchandise. We closed at 9 p.m.

3: Describe a typical workday.

Accounting, reordering, sales, restocking, working with the computers, etc. We work 11 hours a day, six days a week.

4: Why open up shop in the Crossroads region?

We service a large area, including the airport, Brentwood, Telferner, Inez, La Ward, Placedo, Da Costa and more.

5: Is it difficult to find employees in our workforce? How do you find workers?

No, it isn't difficult. They come in and ask. But so far, it's just us two.

6: What advice would you give others starting a new business?

Keep overhead low, don't overspend on anything, keep doing what works. Be wary of marketeers.

7: What is the biggest challenge your industry faces?

The economy and corporate-type competition.

8: What is something most people don't realize about running a small business?

Profits are smaller than most people think.

9: In your time running your business, what is your best story?

Having Jarrod Birmingham as a customer and friend. All of our customers are friends.

10: Where do you see yourself and your business in five years?

Retired.
