PORT LAVACA - Kevin Smith ran for a touchdown and returned an interception for a touchdown to lead Ganado to a season-opening 47-0 win over Bloomington on Friday night at Sandcrab Stadium.

Smith ran 26 yards for a touchdown.

Ganado quarterback Donovan Foster and Josh Labay each added two touchdown runs for the Indians, who are ranked No. 10 in Class 1A.

Kevin Demicelli and Jacob Benavides also had touchdown runs for Ganado.

Brian Bubela added five extra point kicks.

Ganado rushed for 439 yards and overcame the loss of three fumbles.

The loss spoiled the debut of Bloomington head coach Paul Baird.

The game was moved to Port Lavaca because of structural problems with the light poles at Bobcat Stadium in Bloomington.
