What: Benefit barbecue for Jimmy Cisneros
Where; Mario's Ballroom, 1302 Tristan St., Victoria
Cost: $6.50 per plate
Plate: Brisket, rice, beans
Time: Begins 10:30 a.m.
A benefit barbecue will take place Sunday for Jimmy Cisneros, a Victoria resident with a severe internal staph infection.
Cisneros, who also has diabetes, is known by the community for giving benefit barbecues for those in financial need.
"We're helping Jimmy because he has helped the community," said close friend Natie Padierna. "Jimmy is one type of guy that he doesn't say no."
The Majestics, Dotado, Cuatro del Barrio and others will provide live music throughout the benefit.
An auction will also take place at 1 p.m. Sunday to raise extra money.
