CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Discount airline AirTran has pulled out of a major South Carolina airport, citing a lack of business travelers.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that Florida-based AirTran Airways made its last flight out of Charleston International Airport on Thursday.

AirTran had provided service in Charleston since 2007.

The newspaper reported that AirTran executives in October had complained about a lack of business travelers. While the Charleston County Aviation Authority estimates AirTran flights were typically about 80 percent filled, many of those passengers were people on vacation paying low prices.
