Two people were killed Tuesday and a two-vehicle crash in Gonzales County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Kay Freyer, 58, of Victoria died at 3:22 p.m. at the Gonzales Memorial Hospital. Douglas Hicks, 70 of Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:15 p.m. crash.
It occurred on U.S. 183 nearly four miles south of Gonzales on a dry road and under a cloudy sky.
Trooper Michael Turk of Gonzales reported that Freyer was traveling south in a 2007 Chevy Tahoe and Hicks was northbound in a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500.
Turk reported both drivers unsuccessfully took action to avoid the collision, which occurred in the northbound lane. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, he reported.

Yes pray, but for both families The driver of the other vehicles is my Uncle she crossed into his lane and he was killed on impact, then the truck caught fire and I will never be able to see my uncle again because it is a closed casket.
