I think that red light cameras are used more to generate revenue for cities than to reduce wrecks. A Houston study has just shown that traffic accidents doubled at intersections with cameras. Someone runs the light, the camera takes the picture and the car's registered owner gets a ticket. The driver is not identified and it doesn't matter as long as someone pays up. The city makes easy money and so does the camera company; what a racket. These cameras should be illegal.

I don't think any comics should be removed from the newspaper because there are so many people that like everything. The only one I read is "Blondie." I am 66, and I have been reading it ever since I could read, so it has been a long time. I would appreciate it if you all would keep "Blondie."

2009 Predictions: Our nation will be in even much worse condition than it has been during the encroaching economic depression of 2008. Job that we lost in the millions while replacements are almost impossible to foresee right now. The only safe Americans right now are middle class retirees.

All of the bigwigs are trying so hard to name the schools after someone important. We have a walking, talking hero in Victoria; his name is Gary Moses. Why not name one of the schools after Gary Moses while he is alive? He is a very important person in Victoria. He has touched many hearts, many children and many elderly.

I didn't have a good time on New Year's Eve, not at all.

The grass is dry, and there were lots of brush fires. Our dogs are scared of fireworks and guns, and it sounded like the war in Iraq over here - people popping everything that they could find. It not only went on News Year's Eve, but it went on New Year's Day. It is sad when you have to sedate you dogs.
