VICTORIA SOUTHWEST LITTLE LEAGUE REGISTRATION: Saturdays, Jan. 10, 17 and 24, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Premier Sporting Goods and Victoria Mall. Registration fee is $55 and must bring birth certificate and document verifying the legal residing address of parents.

2009 VICTORIA YMCA MELT DOWN: Jan. 5 through March 27. Four participants per team. Entry fee is $100 per team. The winner is the team of with the highest percentage of weight loss of combined team weight. The winning team receives a $1,000 gift certificate to local business of their choice.
