SHINER - Eric Vasquez had four of Faith Academy's nine 3-pointers to lead the Cougars to a 93-66 win over Shiner St. Paul on Tuesday night in the TAPPS District 9-2A basketball opener for both teams.

Joe Garcia led Faith Academy (19-6) with 22 points, while Vasquez scored 20 and Aaron Cavazos added 16.

Josh Soto scored 21 points to pace the Cardinals (2-11).
