Leopards fall to Cardinals The Columbus Cardinals edged the Van Vleck Leopards 55-48 on Tuesday. The Cardinals led at the half 24-18 and pot scored the Leopards in the second half 31-30 for the win to stay unbeaten in the tournament with three wins. Van Vleck’s Jaylon Brinkley and Torrian Miller were named to the all-tournament team. Leopards edge Hornets The Van Vleck Leopards edged the Louise Hornets 60-49 on Tuesday. Van Vleck led at the half 30-18 and held off the hornets in the second half for the win. Trent Freeman led the Leopards in scoring with 16 points followed by Torrian Miller with 13 points. Chris Hicks led the Hornets with 12 points. Gobblers gobble up Hornets The Cuero Gobblers gobbled up the Louise Hornets for a 54-47 victory to open the tournament on Monday. Louise led at the half 24-23 but Cuero rallied in the second half and out scored the Hornets 31-23 for the win. Chico Vasquez led Louise in scoring with 16 points followed by Chris Hicks with 11 points. Robert Armstrong and Marcus Gonzales led the Gobblers in scoring with 17 points. Leopards edge Gobblers The Van Vleck Leopards nipped the Cuero Gobblers 48-45 on Monday to send Cuero into the losers bracket. Van Vleck led at the half 26-22. Robert Armstrong led the Gobblers in scoring with 22 points while Torrian Miller led the Leopards with 17 points.
