It only took 13.5 hours to have the first baby born in Matagorda County for the 2009 year. Seven-pound nine-ounce Isaiah Max Gonzales was born at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City at 1:35 p.m. on Jan. 1 by Dr. Pappas. Isaiah’s parents are Tomas and Rachel Gonzales of Bay City. Also pictured above are Isaiah’s siblings, Alyssa Ariana, 4, an d Tomas III, 3. Isaiah’s maternal grandparents are Mercedes S. Alvarado and Rudy C. Alvarado, both of San Antonio. His paternal grandparents are Tomas and Sara Gonzales from Bay City.
