If you think you would like working with and for the elderly, volunteers are needed now for the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program through the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission Area Agency on Aging.

Volunteers, known as ombudsmen, are required to work two hours per week acting as advocates for the elderly, working to improve the lives of the residents in nursing homes in Victoria, Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson and Lavaca counties.

For more information, contact Kathy Foil, elder rights coordinator, Golden Crescent Area Agency on Aging, at 361-578-1587 or 800-574-9745. She may also be reached by e-mail at kathyf@gcrpc.org.
