A 48-year-old Victoria man was killed as a result of a one car accident at about 10 p.m. Saturday, according to Mike Smith, Victoria Police Department senior patrol officer.

Witnesses observed the 1988 white pickup traveling north on the 400 block of Ben Jordan near Lone Tree Road, swerving and hitting the northbound curb. The driver then overcorrected and went into a field on the west side of Ben Jordan and hit a utility pole, according to Smith

The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene.
