Editor, the Advocate:

Driving down Sam Houston I can't help my outbursts of cursing as my car is bouncing from the ridiculously "patched" up road. But now that I think of it, most of our streets in Victoria are very similar to that description.

Our economy has grown rapidly, and our little town of Victoria is not far behind, as it is expanding greatly. So my thoughts are the following: Look at what we have to show for our great achievements - nice new stores, newly built homes and some crappy roads.

Maybe, instead of focusing on all of these new trendy stores, we should put more thought and effort into improving our streets. It seems that every time I drive in Victoria the value of my car decreases. With all the bottoming out, I feel like I'm an extreme off-roader as I top out at 35 over each and every bump. So my suggestion is that instead of "patching" up the problem, why not just fix the problem altogether? Victoria deserves some nice, slick, new roads.
