HALLETTSVILLE - Engines will roar and metal will strain at the 3rd annual Texas Antique Tractor Show & Pull at the Wilber Baber Memorial Complex on Saturday.
"We've developed quite a following these first two years. We've been pleased. Word is getting around," said Mark Hermes, vice president of the Lavaca County Tractor Pullers Association, noting that last year's event attracted about 150 tractors and 200 exhibitors.
For the competition, each class of tractor has four divisions, including farm stock, weighted beyond factory, modified and highly modified. Hermes said there is also an open division.
Doors open at 8 a.m., and the pull begins at 10 a.m. A tractor parade is scheduled for 1 p.m., with the popular kiddie pull at 3 p.m.
Admission is $5 for those 13 and older. Proceeds benefit the Lavaca County 4-H. The South Texas Wheel Spinners & Crank Twisters Antique Farm Club is sponsoring the event.
Vendor space remains available and those interested should contact Hermes at 361-772-4619.
