I am getting tired of that ad on TV about the police detective. People don't snitch on people anymore. You get killed doing that.

If we are in such dire need of money, why don't they tax alcohol, cigarettes and gasoline? Throw the taxes on them federally. Get money for everything.

We impeach those for the selling of state government. When do we hang those for treason, lying and murder of thousands of soldiers and civilians?

Now that Obama is going to be in office, let's see if he distributes his own personal wealth to help others. And if you want to really get down to business, the present credit and economy crisis began way back in the Clinton years and even before when they started the practices of loaning money to people who couldn't afford to make their payments. If you want to affix blame, look to Congress. President Bush has been the whipping boy of the local media and everybody.

Many of us attending the Victoria Memorial Girl's Volleyball banquet last Monday evening wondered why the athletic director or someone representing his position was not present. The girls honored gave as much to this sport of volleyball as other athletes give to theirs at Memorial High and deserved his attendance at this special event.

All the arguments for lowering the legal drinking age are the very same ones used in the 1970s. In other words, we've been there and done that, so why entertain the idea?

I would like to comment on the chasing of illegal immigrants. It is not a very smart idea. We now have eight illegal immigrants who are at Citizens Medical Center receiving treatment, and I am sure that they don't have health insurance. I am sure that there is a better way to do this. We need to be a lot more strategic in the way that we capture or detain these immigrants.

Not only do I not believe in vehicular pursuit of suspected lawbreakers by law officials, I don't understand the logic. What with sophisticated electronic surveillance certain to result in an intercept farther down the roads and highways.
