Jerheme Urban has been preparing for more than the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

Urban has also been getting ready to host family and friends heading to Arizona for Sunday's NFC Championship game between the Cardinals and the Eagles.

Urban will use the complementary ticket the players receive for his wife as he usually does, but the Victoria native also purchased 14 additional tickets for guests.

"It's awesome," Urban said. "To be able to play on Saturday like we did and get an extra day of rest and recovery. On top of that, getting to stay at home and not having to travel is unbelievable."

The Cardinals made a home game possible with their 33-13 win over the NFC divisional playoff win Panthers, in which Urban caught two passes for five yards.

"I think it was a combination of putting everything together and being focused," Urban said. "Our offense was able to control the ball and the national media can say what they want about (Carolina quarterback Jake) Delhomme giving the game game away, but our defense did a great job."

Urban is keenly aware the Cardinals are a win away from playing in the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

"Early on when we were in the locker room after the game some guys were yelling 60 minutes to the Super Bowl," Urban said. "I've thought about it. You realize how close you are. But by the time we got back, you saw that enjoyment fade to the background and we got serious again."

Urban is proud of what the Cardinals have accomplished this season, but far from satisfied.

"The reality is what we've done hasn't been for nothing," Urban said. "We've changed the whole culture. We've changed the way people in the NFL look at us. It's obviously been good for our city and our fans.

"You realize you're going into your 23rd week of the year and you know the possibility is there that you could lose. It's way too much work to let that slip away. We don't want to go out on Sunday and lay an egg and not execute as players. We don't want to have the mental errors that keep you from winning. We don't want to go out without playing our best game."
