The public is invited to attend a grand opening Wednesday of Victoria's new skate park at the Youth Sports Complex near the community center.

It will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will include a skating demonstration by skaters who have been honing their skills at the park, Director of Parks and Recreation for the Victoria Parks and Recreation Department Doug Cochran said.

Members of the city council, a local skate group and others have been invited to speak.
