Editor, the Advocate:
So you say you're pro-life. This can not be a simple statement. We must accept much responsibility in this cause. It's not enough to just vote pro-life.
Many turn to abortion because they feel they have no other choice. The Gabriel Project helps the expectant mother throughout and after her pregnancy. There are many agencies in our area that help both emotionally and financially. So you've not heard of the many programs? Just look for a Love for Life newsletter. It will keep you informed of the ever-changing legislation that affects this issue. It will also give you much needed information if you find yourself in an unexpected pregnancy. Donate your time to the many pro-life causes in our area. If you can't find any, contact your local place of worship. The pro-life cause is not for people of one faith, it is an issue for all, including people of no particular faith. It is a legal wrong we must make right. If you don't have time to donate, many of these organizations will be elated to accept your financial support. If you don't have money to donate, include the pro-life cause in your prayers.
For those who have suffered an abortion, you too have been victims of the pro-abortion industry. They withheld information concerning the death of your child. And most did it for financial reasons. Planned Parenthood offered gift certificates to be used for abortions over the Christmas holiday. What a way to celebrate the holy season.
Pro-life issues are not just an election-year conversation. They are a day-to-day responsibility.
Please join us in the annual Candlelight March for Life. If will be Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. We will proceed to Grace Lutheran Church. Make it a family event. Make it a girls' night out. Make it a guys' night out. Please join us as we try to make our message known.
