El CAMPO - An El Campo man was killed shortly after noon on Tuesday when his motorcycle struck an 18-wheeler, according to the Pierce Department of Public Safety.

The 2000 Peterbuilt was making a right turn onto County Road 448 when Leonard Ramon Minjarez, 37, struck the truck's rear, according to the report by Trooper David Chauvin. Troopers are still investigating why Minjarez did not stop.

Minjarez was pronounced dead on the scene at 1 p.m.
