President Barack Obama became the 44th president of the United States just after noon Tuesday.

A: "I think it was awesome. It was something that's never happened in history. I felt it was a great day in history and in our nation. It was great to be a part of it."

Arthur Estrada, oil field worker from Victoria

A: "I liked it. I thought it was historic. It was very unique to watch President Bush and Obama and their families go down the stairs together."

Eric Brown, student from Victoria

A: "To me it didn't seem poignant. Like FDR or Kennedy's addresses. Nothing really stood out to me. But it's definitely a historical day."

Ginny Jones, laboratory technician from Victoria
