That old prom dress that has been hanging in your closet can finally have a purpose again. The Junior League of Victoria is collecting dresses for its annual Project Cinderella, which helps high school students who can't afford to go to prom.
The dress drive will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Victoria Mall, Junior League member Misty Cervenka said. They will be accepting dresses of all shapes and sizes, accessories and monetary donations.
This year, they will be assisting students not only from Memorial High School, but also from Cuero, Edna and Port Lavaca.
In addition to providing dresses and tuxes to students, the project also provides for hair, makeup and accessories.
For people who want to donate but can't make it to the dress drive, contact Cervenka at mistyscott_2003@yahoo.com.
