If you'd love to see your name in lights someday, a good place to start is at your local community theater.
Starting Feb. 10, Theatre Victoria will begin the spring semester of their School of Performing Arts Acting Academy for grades 1-12, according to a theater news release.
Classes are divided into three age groups, which are grades 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12. Younger students will focus on the basics of presentation, while older students will focus on improvisation and character development, according to the news release.
All classes are held either Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons or Saturday morning for 10 weeks at the Leo J. Welder Center. Tuition for all classes is $170, including a $25 non-refundable registration fee.
For more information or to register for classes, call 361-576-6277, Ext. 6 or go to www.theatrevictoria.org.
