Elevated fire weather conditions continue for South Texas Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Relative humidity values will again be critically low Wednesday, bottoming out in the low to mid-teens inland and the 20s and 30s along the immediate coast.

However, Wednesday’s winds will be much weaker, blowing from the south to southwest about 10 mph. The fire danger across South Texas will remain high Wednesday due to the very low relative humidity values.

On Thursday, southerly winds will strengthen to 10 to 20 mph, with gusts to 25 mph across the Coastal Bend and portions of the Brush Country.

Higher relative humidity values are expected Thursday afternoon, but they will still be low. Given the extremely dry fuels across South Texas, the fire danger will remain elevated into Thursday.
