CONROE - Kimi Carrier won two gold medals and Josie Kisalus won a gold and a silver to lead the St. Joseph Lady Flyers to a second-place finish in Division II at the TAPPS South Regional Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.
Carrier won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 backstroke, and Kisalus won the 100 freestyle and finished second in the 100 breaststroke for the Lady Flyers, who had 80 points.
Carrier and Kisalus also teamed up with Jory Schroeder and Kelly Janak on the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays that placed second. Schroeder won a pair of bronze medals by finishing third in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Karl Hesson won a silver medal in the 100 freestyle and a bronze medal in the 50 freestyle for the Flyers, who finished fifth in Division II with 37 points.
Hallettsville Sacred Heart's Whitney Snider won a bronze medal in the 100 butterfly for the Indianettes, who finished fifth in Division III with 39 points. The Sacred Heart boys also finished fifth in Division III with 24 points.
The top six finishers in each event and the next two fastest times from the South and North regionals advance to the state meet, which is scheduled for Feb. 6-7 at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio.
