Auction brings in more than $200,000

YOAKUM - The Yoakum Project Show sale earned $218,174 this year, down about $11,428 from last year's sale.

The auction is a premium sale which allows the buyers to either keep the animals or resell them to a third party for a set price per pound. Most buyers resale the animals.

Emily June Kelley's grand champion market steer sold for $10,100. Buyers were Allied Mill., Burns Ranch/ Kelley Show Steers, Christie's Collection, Cooper Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, DeWitt Poth & Sons, First State Bank of Yoakum, Steve and Mitchell Franz, Glen's Packing Co., Hagan Cattle Company, Hallettsville Livestock Commission Co., Hope Ag Services, K-Box Cattle Company, Kelley Farm, Dennis and Shirley Kocian, Chris and Kim Kvinta, Ohman Cattle Co., PrimeVest Financial Services, Soehnge Do-It Center, Cory and Wendy Thamm, Tite-Line Fencing, Weaver & Jacobs Constructors, Yoakum Animal Clinic, Yoakum National Bank and Yoakum Packing.

Carson Schindler's grand champion market swine was purchased for $3,000.
