AUSTIN - The Memorial Vipers cut 16 strokes off their opening round score Saturday and finished third in the consolation bracket of the Battles of the Lakes Golf Tournament at Live Oak Golf Course at Lakeway.

After finishing in 19th place on Friday, the Vipers moved into the consolation bracket, while the top 11 teams competed in the championship bracket.

Memorial tacked on a 331 Saturday to its 347 for a 678. Vista Ridge won the consolation bracket with a 329-323-652, while Lake Travis was second with a 329-324-653.

Trevor Vega led the Vipers in the 36-hole event with a 79-85-164, while Sean Hawes added an 81-84-165. Greg Brazzeal followed with an 86-84-170, while Cameron Gomez had a 101-81-182 and David Maxey a 105-82-187.
