The city will close Glascow Street at Ball Airport Road beginning Monday for two weeks, weather permitting, to install new water and sewer lines.

The street will close at 8 a.m. each morning and re-open at 5 p.m. each night. All businesses and homes on Glascow Street and Ball Airport Road will remain accessible via alternate routes.

This construction is part of the utility line extension from Glascow Street to Northside Road in the Ball Airport Road right-of-way. The contractor is King-Isles, Inc. of Corpus Christi.

The Street Division of the Public Works Department will close Dairy Road between Hawthorne Drive and Huvar Street. to through traffic from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for ditch cleaning Monday through Thursday.

The street will close at 7:30 a.m. each morning and re-open again at 5:30 p.m. each night.

Motorists should seek an alternate route during this time.

The size of the machinery and the narrow street necessitate the road closure to efficiently complete the job.

Midway Road in eastern Victoria County will be closed on Tuesday where it crosses the new railroad tracks.

County Commissioner Wayne Dierlam said it will be closed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. so Kansas City Southern can install rails.
