A man armed with a shotgun and handgun fired a round into the ceiling of the Sprint store in Victoria before making off with about $60 Tuesday.
Police Sgt. Adam Nieto said the armed robbery occurred at 6:12 p.m. at 5218 N. Navarro St. No one was injured.
Officers flooded the area after receiving the call, but were unable to find the man.
He was described as a tall, light-skinned Hispanic man, Nieto said. No age was available.
An employee told police she was at the register when the man entered the store and pointed at least one of the guns at a co-worker.
"He demanded money and the employee opened the register and gave him money that was in cash drawer," Nieto said. "After he got the money from the employee, he ran out the front door and left northbound on foot."
Employees did not pursue the man because he was armed.
