To SuperDad: Yes, there were other players on the first team who had much better stats, had no hitters, shut-outs, had more hits, homeruns, and played more than ONE position. It is sad that sometimes utility players don't get the recognition that they deserve. There aren't too many people out there who can do that, and do that well. These players play their hearts out, not for the recognition, but for their true love and passion of the game! Too many times players like Madrid have to laugh off things like this. That's all you can do is laugh.......and don't look back!
July 7, 2009 at 12:08 a.m.didn't Madrid get back-to-NO HITTERS! for the Vipers
Didn't he sign D1?
Did he not get drafted in Major League Baseball? First for VISD player???
Seems to me that this kid should have gotten some individual award as 'Pitcher of the Year' or 'Player of the Year' looks like he was a good utility player and could do it all. So what he is a Senior at least give him is DUE and not just 1st team. I guess it all goes to -- who you know........
