GURDON, Ark. (AP) — A Texas man is in jail after a shootout with law officers in southwest Arkansas.
State Police spokesman Bill Sadler says 24-year-old Dominic McPeak of Dallas is suspected of shooting at police in Gurdon. Sadler says the shooting occurred when officers responded to reports of a fight at a large party and officers returned fire.
McPeak was arrested at a hospital in Fordyce where he'd gone for treatment of a gunshot wound.
He's being held in the Clark County jail on a charge of criminal attempt to commit capital murder. It was not clear whether he had an attorney.
