Generals 12, Pump Jacks 6

The Victoria Generals extended their winning streak to six games with a 12-6 Texas Collegiate League win over the East Texas Pump Jacks on Tuesday at Riverside Stadium.

The Generals swept their four-game homestand and outscored the Pump Jacks 26-12 in the two games the teams played. Victoria improved to 25-12, while East Texas falls further behind the Generals in the standings with a 20-17 record.

James Hipp and Mark Hudson led the Generals offense, while Blake Ford improved his record to 2-1 after going five innings. Hipp went 3-for-4 with a single, double and three-run home run. Hudson, a Memorial graduate who is Sam Houston State bound, went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three triples. Bryson Miles scored three runs in his first game in the lead-off spot, while Kenny Jackson added a two-run single in the first.

  • Correction - Mark Hudson went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double. Not sure where I got that he had two doubles and three triples. Not my best late-night moment.
