Ranging Reporter Julian Cavazos talked with people at IHOP in Victoria about summer vacations and the economic recession.

Some Crossroads residents are choosing to stay close to home, while others aren't letting the economy stop them from their dream vacations.

Q: Are your summer plans being affected by the economy?

A: "I'm not going to let the economy affect me. We just got back from Niagra Falls. I'm going fishing in Oklahoma, then coming back. Then, I'm going to New Mexico next month.

Leon Harris, retired, Cuero

A: "I was going to go to Wyoming, but I'm not anymore. I'm going to stay home and hold on to the money I have. We'll see how much more Obama takes away.

York Graham, manager, Meyersville

A: "We're heading to Disney World. We have a big family gathering there. It's already been paid for."

Judy Schmidt, retired, Victoria

A: "If we travel, it won't be until the end of the summer. Maybe a cruise. The economy will make a difference. I'm sure gas prices will be higher."

David Hernandez, registered nurse, Victoria
