Editor, the Advocate:

Joe Galloway is a mighty, bitter man. The Advocate is not helping itself by providing an outlet for his venom as it did in the June 7 Viewpoints page. He used such terms as the following: Darth Cheney, multiple felonies, doughboy face, unindicted co-conspirators, assorted consiglieri and mouthpieces, voice from the dark side, telling whoppers, international war crimes, bogus intelligence, etc.

It is easy enough to write such tripe just because you have the stage. It is a lot harder to back up your venom with unbiased truth, which Galloway does not do. Instead, he resorts to childish name calling and verbal attacks. I, for one, would be happy if you never waste your space with his bitter recriminations again.

  • DonMader,

Drink 2 glasses of Prune Juice and call your Doctor in the morning.

    Mike,

Thanks for your colorful writing. Brought a smile to my face. :D

  • And in a heartfelt effort to avoid picking on anyone, this "political narcissist" says.... yawn....

    PS
I must admit I have copied and filed that ingenious remark:

"The president for the first time has left the cap off the tube of tooth paste, left some clothes on the floor, and did not lift up the toilet seat."

I'm saving it for posterity as a perfect example of liberal spin in an attempt to down play serious problems with inane double talk. Chuckle, snort....

  • Mr.Mader

If you would like to know anything about what I think or do; you can email me like you did on May 28, 2009 when you forwarded Matt’s arrest records to me…I did not ask for them..I mentioned (in that reply)your on- line quarrel with two individuals and a Word file I was keeping at the time for a long time enemy but your on-line escapades involved bragging about being a member of Mensa, dueling permits to carry, and an all nighter with a troll…No need for a file to remember those incidents , like when your whole nights work was deleted much to the delight of the troll you were dealing with…No need to keep a log ,the Advocate’s comment history serves me well…I exposed a troll that was using 7 identities prior to that and I suspected another indivual was doing the same..His wife verified that, saving me the trouble.

I do a lot of reading(I hear it improves the memory) ,I also take 1000mg of B12 daily (Dr. orders) so although I am 63 years old ,my memory serves me well..I even remember your first blog on Obama not having his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, and then you removed it after you were corrected by several posters.

In the last four years I have been anything but quite but I know when one actually wants to discuss a subject or is just waiting for that “gotcha moment”, so what do I really have to gain by answering your unimportant questions..You really aren’t as important as you think you are.

For about the fourth time, I will quote you “My avatar is not hard to miss, so why don’t you ignore it, and I will do the same.”…

What is it with the local conservatives; if one does not want to engage in “and you’re another one” attacks; you are somehow timid, weak or quite…I am one of the few liberals that post because the others are quite content; I understand the conservatives are angry but some have to fight every day and if the fight doesn't come to them, they go looking for it...I am a happy camper but I still like to correct the myths.

Now, I hope I have answered your questions and you will leave me alone but my email is still available for any unanswered questions, so we don’t have to waste the other posters time reading this childish behavior, we both have engaged in.

ONE MORE TIME..After the Nov. 2008 election, I promised myself I would not engage in the silly on line quarrels (I slip from time to time) and if you want to take that as a victory, Go ahead.

  • Still waiting to hear why Mike keeps track of all my posts, including the ones in the old format.

I've noticed that Mike has a tendency to remain quiet on a subject when anyone really presses him about it and he has no ready-made talking points to toss out. Ah well.....

  • It just struck me that if George Bush had invited just Fox News into the Blue Room in order to present one of his proposals, the Left and the rest of the main stream media would have gone absolutely berserk!

Can't you just imagine the howls of protest that Bush was trying to manipulate the news, by unfairly cutting out the rest of the major networks from the TV show?

I'm sure Mike would also have had some pithy comments.

It strikes me as a wee bit hypocritical that even the independents are giving Obama a pass on this use of propaganda as a fireside chat. I wonder how many hardball questions ABC had lined up to ask the Prez. Oh well, perhaps the MSM agrees with Mike that Obama has merely "left the cap off the tube of tooth paste, left some clothes on the floor, and did not lift up the toilet seat" as to his failure to keep some of his key campaign promises.

BTW, I don't recall saying that I predicted that Huckabee would win the election (although I wish he had). but I do find it curious that Mike takes the trouble to copy and file all my posts as he has indicated that he does. What's up with that anyway?

And "Political narcissism?" how did you arrive at that? Say, isn't that against the Vicad rules about character assassination or am I just being too sensitive?

  • Oh my Mike!

Touched a nerve I guess - there's that "talking points" reaction ("..using the talking points of talk radio Obamacaid/Obamacare.."). Since I really don't listen to talk radio at all, I thought I was being clever to use those terms - I didn't realize I was plagiarizing.

At any rate, I wasn't talking about national figures, I meant the local Obama fans who post to this forum that aren't saying anything about Galloway's column.

I didn't realize that the 25% on the right were all crazies (what hat did you pull that 25% number out of BTW - is that a Huffington Post talking point or just your own estimate?).

Sorry Mike, but "...left the cap off the tube of tooth paste, left some clothes on the floor, and did not lift up the toilet seat..." sounds like something that at best, a preoccupied husband would do, and at worst, a careless child. For many of the folks on the left, at any rate, Gitmo, Don't ask - Don't tell, etc., etc., are pretty serious issues. Talk about trying to white-wash (no pun intended) the actions and/or in actions of the President re: his campaign promises... I was barely able to control a hearty chuckle when I read that.

Just because Fox has pointed out that ABC news appears to be produced and directed by the White House doesn't mean that they are jealous. Fox reporters still sit in the W.H. press room and are present at briefings, but I don't think they get an "electric tingle up and down their legs" when the Prez speaks.

This liberal was not silent; I enjoyed his column and agree with a lot of it… Joe Galloway will not make or break this president… The president for the first time has left the cap off the tube of tooth paste, left some clothes on the floor, and did not lift up the toilet seat. The six month honeymoon is over…I have been through a few elections, so I know that the right is angry and they enjoy dissent because misery loves company.

Joe Galloway is not exceptional because Rachel Maddow, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and Keith Oberman have all been either poking fun or criticizing this president. They all have one thing in common, they know the alternative John (Bomb bomb Iran) would have been a disaster, and George W Bush was a disaster… My complaints are similar to those of parent, who knows their child can and will do better.

Political narcissism? I predicted the howling fans on the left were gonna get worse and worse. Didn’t you also predict that Mike Huckabee would be POTUS? A six month prediction is usually called a knee-jerk.

The fans of Fox just hate that ABC and NBC have been given access to the White House, and it shows, using the talking points of talk radio “Obamaciad/Obamacare to demonize an American question and answer session with the president of United States and the taxpayers. Anyone keeping up with the healthcare issue knows that the cost is premature since the Health Care Reform Plan is still in draft form. We are already paying for the high cost of insurance.

That 89% that thought this country was going in the wrong direction made the word “change “even more important. Not to worry, 24/7 talk radio and Fox will keep you well informed..lol

On my way to Hastings yesterday, I listened (barely controlling my laughter) as Dick Morris was telling Sean Hannity, how we’re out of George Bush’s recession, and we have been in Obama’s recession since April. In those 3 minutes, Dick Morris blamed Obama for everything except the bubonic plague. As long as we have the crazies on the right, front and center with their statements on YouTube; the left and this president have nothing to worry about because he will never be higher than 75% approval because the 25% on the right, will always be against him.

  • Re: Galloway's latest column.

I'm amazed that the folks who recently defended Galloway's insights about the Bush and Cheney are apparently now mute. The liberals are always quick to react to conservative criticism about Obama. Now one of their own has dared to criticize "the Man-god Who Would Bring Change." Such a strange eerie silence!

I mean really - where does Galloway get off attacking this most popular president?!? You know, it could be that Galloway has been quicker than most liberals to catch on to the empty promises of "Change" for the sake of change.

Can Joe be right that "Obama's approval ratings are beginning to unwind and begin a long downward spiral...." Oh say it isn't so! Around ten days or so ago I predicted in a post that the howling from fans on the left was going to get worse and worse the longer it takes Obama to keep his campaign promises (if ever).

I'm looking forward to seeing ABC"s infomercial from the White House on health care. It'll be truely interesting to see how much it will really cost for the Obamacaid/Obamacare universal plan and who's really going to pay for it.

Don't worry folks, "Change" is GOOOOOOD for you! Trust me - this won't hurt and I promise you won't get pregnant! ;>b

  • Mr. Gathright

Mr. Galloway wrote an unflattering column about President Obama today… I seriously doubt anyone from the left side will call the Victoria advocate wanting to cancel their subscription, or use a collective ",WE" to criticize Galloway for writing his thoughts as a journalist. The Victoria Advocate has published many cartoons that might be considered unflattering to this administration, but they’re just cartoons. Time does not stand still, and this president will make several mistakes along the way, it is par for the course, and a difference of opinion should always be expected along the way.
