211 Texas is a free, anonymous information and referral line answered 24-hours a day, seven days a week by certified specialists. In the Victoria area, it is coordinated through the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission.

Eligibility services/state benefits Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

To report waste, fraud and abuse, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

TEXAS MILITARY ACCESS

Provides information and referrals for both active duty personnel and veterans of all branches of the service who have deployed or will be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. For this program, callers are transferred to trained military call specialists who help with resources for financial assistance, marriage counseling, mental health counseling and a variety of other services.

In 2008, 211 Texas handled 2,056,060 calls, more than any other state in the nation.
