PORT LAVACA - Students packed the Calhoun County High School auditorium Tuesday after two seniors were seriously injured in a wreck Monday.
"We've gone into crisis counseling mode," Superintendent Larry Nichols said.
Lynn Morales, 18, was transported to University Hospital in San Antonio, where she was listed in critical condition in the surgical intensive care unit.
She was driving a Pontiac G-6 in which Hilary Braun was a passenger, according to the Department of Public Safety report.
Braun was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, where her condition was not available Tuesday.
Aaron Schultz, 25, was driving a Ford truck that was also involved in the wreck, according to DPS. Schultz was traveling on state Highway 185 and Morales was driving on state Highway 238.
The girls are part of a graduating class of 250, Nichols said.
"They're struggling and their families are struggling," Nichols said.

May 13, 2009 at 11:27 a.m.From what I hear it was the girls car that pulled out in front of the guys truck. I am sure he is feeling really bad anyway. But we should just be praying for a speeding recovery for both girls so they can graduate with their class.

May 13, 2009 at 8:59 a.m.There are a lot of rumors going around about Hilary's injuries. The family has created a website for her so hopefully the rumors will seize. Please visit the website to get up to date information. I will update it everytime we have new information. Please remember that the hospital has asked only family members visit her until she is out of ICU. I will answer any questions you may have. Thanks for your prayers and support.
