Rebecca Lara of Victoria and Wendel Lamar Foerster of Meyersville were married May 16, 2009, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral in Victoria. Rev. Charles Otsiwah officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jose and Gloria Lara of Victoria. She is the granddaughter of the late Enrique and Clementina Urenda and the late Marcelino and Corina Lara, all of San Antonio. The groom is the son of Tracey and Sharon Foerster of Meyersville. He is the grandson of Creston and Janet Foerster of Weesatche, and Burma and the late Fred A. Wendel of Meyersville. Trista Foerster, cousin of the groom, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elyse Cano, Melissa Saenz, cousin of the bride, Kelli Newman, and Thuy Lynh Do. Mia Renee Martinez, cousin of the bride, attended as flower girl. Dane Foerster, brother of the groom, served as ring bearer. Scott Foerster, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Corey Foerster, brother of the groom, Brandon Hilbrich, Ben Zimmerman, Joseph Lara, brother of the bride, and Klent Foerster, brother of the groom. Ushers were Ernest Rivera, cousin of the bride, and Dustin Wendel, cousin of the groom. A reception was held following the ceremony at Holy Family Activity Center. Following a cruise to Keywest, Fla. and the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Corpus Christi. The bride is a 2004 graduate of St. Joseph High School and attends Texas A&M University Corpus Christ pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading Specialization. The groom is a 2004 graduate of Cuero High School and a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M University Corpus Christi with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with an emphasis in Speech Communication. He is employed by Walgreens as an Assistant Manager."
