Saturday, 7 p.m., Buccaneer Stadium, Corpus Christi
Memorial: Jordan Joseph, Kyle Moczygemba; Calhoun: Xavier Archangel, Jeremy Boyd, Bryan King, Moises Samayoa; Cuero: Jake Moeller, Dustin Blinka; Palacios: Eric Rojas; Refugio: Eric Martinez, Bo Adams, Wayne Frazier; Bloomington: Frank Kassner; Industrial: Dillon Koop, Ryan Richter; Yorktown: Loren Koehler; Woodsboro: Clint Bingenheimer.
Memorial seniors Kyle Moczygemba and Jordan Joseph will get to play a little role reversal in their final high school football game.
Moczygemba played mostly at safety and Jordan usually lined up at running back for the Vipers last season.
But Moczygemba will play at wide receiver and Joseph will play at cornerback for the East squad in the 14th Annual Coastal Bend Shrine Classic All-Star Football Game scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Buccaneer Stadium in Corpus Christi.
Moczygemba had five catches for 60 yards last season, but spent most of his time in the secondary where he intercepted four passes and returned one for a touchdown.
"We are playing some really good kids, so it's going to be a lot of fun," said Moczgemba, who plans to attend Texas A&M. "That makes it a rally fun thing to be a part of. It's a real big honor."
Joseph carried 28 times for 248 yards and one touchdown and caught three passes for 42 yards and one touchdown.
"It's been a blessing for me to be chosen to play," Joseph said. "I thought I was pretty much done playing football so this is a great opportunity for me to show what I can do for some scouts that will be there."
Joseph will also return kicks and Moczygemba will play on the kickoff return team.
The East squad, which includes a number of players from the Advocate-area, will be coached by former Beeville and current Alice coach Chris Soza.
"The first day of practice was really hard," Joseph said. "I was really breathing hard, but the next day I was back in the groove of everything. I feel good now and ready to go."
Memorial's Jordan Hobbs will play for the East squad in the all-star basketball game scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Miller gym. Memorial's Kaelynn Reyes, Amber Flowers and Breanna Jones will play in the girl's game at noon on Saturday at Miller.
The East team will be coached by Corpus Christi Flour Bluff's Robert Dodd.
