  • LOL Victorian,

I can see how one could make that mistake.

But spinning your tires is often a phrase used. You may just be more familiar with others. like "laying down rubber", "smoking your tires", or "breaking traction"

  • Maybe "spinning wheels" could have been better worded, as I was envisioning the rims that keep spinning after the car stops.

  • Wayward,

What is missing is the headers for each of the different categories. Arrested, Assualted, Burglarized, etc.

It starts out with who was arrested but goes straight into who was assaulted without so much as a whoopsie daisy.

For those not paying attention this can lead to confusion of a Crime VICTIM thought arrested for a crime. Advocate is aware of this. They have been told in the past and confusion such as yours is not the first time. Yet the Advocate refuses to clarify the blotter by including the section headers as they appear in the print version.

  • I'm wondering about the last entry: "TELFERNER - A 28-year-old Telferner woman by a male relative in her home in the 1700 block of Old Highway Road on Thursday, according to a deputy's report."

WHAT about a 28 year old woman? Did she do something to the male relative or did the male relative do something to her? Was either assaulted or did something else happen? I'm thinkin' something is missing from the sentence.

  • just_concerned,

Spinning your tires, i.e. "laying rubber" is considered an "Exhibition of Speed" and falls under the laws criminalizing racing on streets.

It is covered in Texas Transportation Code 545.420

It is also covered under Victoria City Ordinance 22-18 against Spinning wheels.

  • Spinning tires (excessive acceleration) is foolish and wreckless driving in which loss of control puts other citizens at unneccessary risk..........this is nothing new.....

  • you can be arrested for spinning wheels? what is this world coming too?
Heck, I should know...A pansie-man pressed charges on me because he thought I shot him the bird! The judge was apparently his buddy and decided that I must be guilty of a crime I didn't do because good ol' boys stick together!
