Lisa Minjares and Juan Briones, both of Victoria, were married October 3, 2009, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Victoria. Fr. Stan Deboe officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reynaldo Minjares of Victoria. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Ramona Garza of Carrizo Springs and the late Mr. and Mrs. Augustanio Minjares.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Briones of Victoria. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alejandro Briones of Telferner and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Lara.
Debbie Minjares, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Bridemaids were Valerie Minjares, sister of the bride, Traci Jones, Kimberly Ortega, Sally Palacios, and Alexis Priest.
Alyson Mejia attended as flower girl. Luke Deande and Xavier Martinez served as ring bearers.
Jose Ortega served as best man. Groomsmen were James Briones, brother of the groom, Matthew Castillo, Carlos Longoria, Christopher Rodriguez, and Martin Villarreal.
Ushers were Curtis Porter, David Perez, David Priest, and John Tewes. Lectors were Trish Irrobali and Leslie Zepeda.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Victoria Community Center Dome in Victoria. Following wedding travel to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Victoria.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Stroman High School and a 2004 graduate of Wharton County Junior College with an Associates degree in Applied Science in Radiologic Technology. She is employed by Citizens Medical Center in Victoria as a Radiologic Technologist.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of St. Joseph High School and is employed by the City of Victoria as a Code Enforcement Inspector.
