Looks like yall both worked togther to put a good case against this young man. He will have many years to come to think of his crime he coldly committed against a person trying to make a liveing. I definatly agree that this man Sonny did not diserve this and am very glad that he is ok. On another note, there are so many people criticizing his mother for bad parenting, yet I know that none of ya'll that are syaing these things are "perfect" parents with out your own issues. A parent can only do so much! We should be praying for the mother and for Andrew because the fact that he is even in this situation shows that he needs it! He hasn't been convicted, we DON"T know if he is guilty or not, it is just the opinion formed at the moment and what about the friend that was with him???? Why hasn't he been arrested and charged if he was there and just as involved. It sounds like, to me, that there are some pieces missing in the story and police are just blaming Andrew because at the moment, thats all they can do, but I think there is more to it.

Sounds like all the evidence is against him & he is guilty. Even his friend has blown his plan B, unidentified black male "Buga", saying he did not exist. It is my hope that Mr. Davis has a full recovery & is able to get back to his life as father & husband & Andrew heads off to prison where he obviously belongs, how he comes out is solely up to him.

Who took care of him while his mother was in a coma? Extended family needs to step up & help with these kids, for crying out loud! Too many people have gone feral, breeding & then leaving the kids to fend for themselves. Too many kids left to fend for themselves, if the parents don't care, is there not somebody else in their family that does?

Hey, SpaceAngel, the law does allow parents to give their kids a good old-fashioned butt spanking. Most parents are just big pansies and have been brainwashed into thinking they will harm their child's intellectual growth if they spank. The truth is "spare the rod and spoil the child." God had it right. Spank those butts, and you'll have much more respectful, well-behaved children!

I did live next door to him. His mom broke her necka nd was in a coma for over a month. She also can barely recall how to speak and is still going through therapy. She has repeatedly asked for help for her children but the boot camp was shut down or not accepting applicants. I spoke with Andrew several times offering him advice on his choice of friends and the things he did. I don't have a bleeding heart for him. What he did was wrong! No doubt and disgusting. My heart bleeds for the cab driver and his wife. I lost my first fiancee to a violent robbery. I was standing up for his mother, and those that would blame this on her. He was lost before he ever did this, and unfortunately there just wasn't anyone around to help him find his way.

Now, assuming they've got the guilty party, all should hope that they put together a solid case, and get the guy off the street. Let this be an example to all of how law enforcement benefits the community when good police work is standard operating procedure.

So, this so-called good kid just went wrong. Kids now do not have the proper discipline by the parents, and many parents are too busy keeping up with the Jones, or doing drugs themselves to take the time for their kids. I know this too well because I foster troubled teen boys. And, all of the laws protecting them tie parent’s hands. Protecting them that is until they go to prison. OK, I do NOT believe in beating a kid, but when they reach an age where they are disrespectful to everyone, they need to be in a good boot camp for a year or so, and then maybe they will learn respect. People spoil and coddle their kids, then the laws protect them from getting a good old fashion butt spanking, so then when they get a little older they are put in prison. So, if there could be more discipline by the parents, then maybe they would not make it as far as prison.

I knew Andrew's mom and used to live by them. She was involved in a severe car accident and has had a long long recovery. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try a child will still do what they want. I was up many nights listening to her cry over her kids. And the kid isn't trash, he's lost. His mom is hurt and struggling and his dad is gone. So, does he need to pay? Yes! Does he need to go to prison? Yes! But how is this kid going to come out when he's released? Definitely not any better. Prison is the breeding ground for tomorrows gang members, if he's not dead when he comes home.

So good to hear that an arrest has been made. Sonny is a good person, working an honest job to support his family. He didn't deserve this, no one does. I hope that this makes each of you value your life and your loved ones even more than you already do. It is truly a miracle that he is alive.
