Victoria County Genealogical Society met Oct. 12 for a general meeting at First Christian Church, Fellowship Hall, 2105 N. Ben Jordan St.

Kenneth Booth, Society President, introduced Patsy Hand, VCGS member, to give her presentation "Searching for Our Immigrating Emigrants."

The nominating committee will announce the offices to be filled for the coming 2010-11 term at the November meeting.

Booth reminded the members of the upcoming conference by the Texas State Genealogy Society, to be held in San Antonio on Friday and Saturday.

Larry and Marcia Wedel shared "Five Minutes to Glory" about researching in Kansas.

The next regular meeting of VCGS will be Monday, Nov. 9, 2009. Karen Mueller, will present "Hunting in Georgia, But Not for Gold." Visitors are welcome. Meeting starts at 7 p.m.; board members will meet at 6 p.m.
