Ranging Reporter J.R. Ortega was at Japaleno's Café this morning where the time change put the morning into a different light. He asked the question of the day: What kind of safety measures should be implemented for better protection of taxi cab drivers?
A: "Maybe keeping pepper spray and trying not to give rides so late."
Jena Ramirez, Victoria, student.
A: "Try to make sure they are from the neighborhood and that they have the money to pay. Also, driving with a companion drive with them."
Robert Mancha, Bloomington, retired
A: "That's their choice of job. That's their occupational hazard. It can happen to anybody."
Yvonne Puga, Victoria, homemaker
A: "Just be more cautious of who you are picking up. Not that you can always tell who you are picking up. Just always be cautious."
Carmen Zavala, Victoria, H-E-B Plus Deli/Cheese representative
